Effective July 22, 2026
By accessing or using BizPulse Chicago (the “Service”), operated by Four-Leaf Ventures LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company doing business as BizPulse (“BizPulse,” “we,” or “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
BizPulse Chicago provides search and analysis tools over publicly available business license data published by the City of Chicago. The data has been modified for use from its original source, www.cityofchicago.org, the official website of the City of Chicago. The City of Chicago makes no claims as to the content, accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any of the data provided, and the data is subject to change at any time. The data is used at your own risk, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Chicago from any claim, loss, or liability arising from your use of the data.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and the compiled, structured, and enriched data it produces, is owned by BizPulse and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own business purposes, subject to these Terms. We claim no ownership over the underlying public records themselves. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service, or use our name or logos, without our permission. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them without obligation to you.
You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We use Clerk for authentication; your authentication credentials are subject to Clerk’s terms.
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
Paid plans (Pro and Intelligence) are billed monthly in advance through our payments provider (Stripe, via Clerk). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method, and your subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first paid month. To request a refund, email support within 7 days of the initial charge. After the 7-day window, payments are non-refundable. Refunds for subsequent billing periods are issued only at our discretion.
You may not: (a) reverse engineer, scrape, or programmatically extract data from the Service or its compiled and enriched database, except through documented export features (this restriction protects our compilation and enrichment of the data; it does not restrict the underlying public records, which you remain free to obtain from their original source); (b) resell or redistribute the data in bulk; (c) use the Service to harass, stalk, surveil, or doxx individuals; (d) attempt to circumvent tier limits or access controls; (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
BizPulse is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (the “FCRA”), and the information provided through the Service is not a “consumer report” under the FCRA. You may not use the Service, or any data obtained from it, in whole or in part, as a factor in establishing an individual’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws applicable to your use of the data, including the FCRA, the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act, and other applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws.
THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that records, owner names, addresses, license statuses, or AI-generated summaries are accurate, complete, or current. You are solely responsible for verifying information before relying on it for any business, legal, or financial decision. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Records shown through the Service may include the names and addresses of individuals associated with licensed businesses, as published in the underlying public data. If you are an individual identified in a record — whether or not you are a BizPulse customer — and wish to request access to, correction of, or removal of your information, you may contact us using the method in Section 21, without needing an account. We will acknowledge and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (for example, within 45 days under the California Consumer Privacy Act), and we will suppress or remove the applicable record from the Service where required by law. We cannot alter the underlying records maintained by the City of Chicago, which remain available from their original source.
Intelligence-tier features include summaries and signals generated by third-party large language models (currently Anthropic, Groq, and Google). AI-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information. Treat all AI output as a starting point for your own research, not as fact.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and large language model providers (currently Anthropic, Groq, and Google). Your use of features powered by these providers may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or content of any third-party service, and we disclaim liability for any loss arising from their failure, change, or discontinuation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BizPulse and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) US $100. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud. Because some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BizPulse and its operators from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party. This is in addition to, and does not limit, the indemnification you owe the City of Chicago under Section 2.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. If we terminate a paid plan without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused portion of your then-current billing period. You may delete your account at any time from your account dashboard.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect, and will not apply retroactively to any dispute that has already arisen. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The provisions that by their nature should survive — including Intellectual Property, the disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — survive any termination of your account or these Terms.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and BizPulse regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We may provide notices to you by email or through the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
